Understanding Regatta Admins
RegattaHub uses a permission system for managing each event. Event super admins can make any modifications needed to a regatta.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Event details
- Scoring
- Protests
- Announcements
- Notice board posts
- Add products
- See payments made
This system means you can invite people as needed to make changes to the regatta and help you run it. These permissions are specific only to that regatta and a user can be an admin as well as a sailor in the same regatta.
Super admins are added to a regatta in two ways. 1) a regatta creator automatically becomes its super admin. 2) Additional super admins can be added in regatta settings.
Adding a Super Admin:
Before you get started:
- You must have the new super admin's email address.
- The new super admin must already have a RegattaHub account.
How To:
- On your regatta overview page navigate to the settings page.
- On the left sidebar, click Permissions.
- Click Assign Role by Email
- Enter the users email address and click assign role
- Save changes to finalize the invitation.
After invitation:
- All existing super admins will receive an email notification that a new super admin has been invited.
- The new super admin will receive an email informing them they have been invited.
Common Issues:
- The user you are attempting to invite does not have a RegattaHub account. In this case, you'll receive this error: “Failed to assign role: This email address doesn't have a RegattaHub account yet. They need to sign up first before you can add them as an admin.” To resolve this error, have the new super admin make an account and then retry the invite.
Removing a super admin.
- On your regatta overview page navigate to the settings page.
- On the left sidebar, click Permissions.
- Click the trash icon besides the email address of the super admin you want to remove
- Confirm removal when prompted
After Removal:
- All existing super admins will receive an email notification that a super admin has been removed.
- The removed super admin will receive an email informing them they have been removed.
There may be up to a 5-minute delay between when a super admin is removed and when they lose access to the regatta.
