Creating a Mock Regatta
Learn how to generate a fully-featured test regatta to explore RegattaHub without setting up a real event.
A mock regatta is a test environment pre-populated with sample data, allowing you to explore all of RegattaHub's features without creating a real event or setting up payment processing. It's the perfect way to learn the platform before running your first regatta.
When to Use a Mock Regatta
Mock regattas are ideal for:
- Learning the platform — Explore the admin dashboard and all features risk-free
- Training race committee members — Let your team practice with realistic data
- Testing workflows — Try out scoring, protests, and announcements before race day
- Demonstrations — Show RegattaHub to your club or potential users
What Gets Generated

- Crew data — 3-4 crew per boat with mixed confirmation status

Mock Billing Mode
No real payments are processed
Mock regattas use simulated billing data. You can explore all payment-related features without connecting Stripe or processing any real transactions.
Mock regattas include simulated payment data so you can see how the payments tab works, view entry payment statuses, and understand the billing workflow — all without any real money changing hands.
Identifying Mock Regattas
Mock regattas are clearly labeled throughout the admin interface with a banner indicating "Mock Regatta" so you can easily distinguish them from real events. They appear in your regatta list alongside your other events.
Deleting Mock Regattas
When you're done exploring, you can archive or delete mock regattas just like any other regatta. They don't count against any limits and can be removed at any time.
